Abstract

Professor Mohamed Fathi Osman passed away Saturday, 11 September 2010 in Los Angeles, California. He was an Egyptian author and scholar whose work focused on cooperation between Islam and other religions and whose writings include an overview of the Qur'an for the general public, Concepts of the Qur'an: A Topical Reading. His writings, including 40 books written in English and Arabic, were aimed at making Islamic civilisation and culture more accessible to non-Muslims and at showing Muslims that their religion provided the flexibility to adapt to modern times.
