Abstract

Shariah compliance is the backbone of Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs). Ensuring such compliance is imperative on order to maintain the confidence of both our stakeholders and the public. Therefore, inadequate attention to the whole process of Shariah compliance could have negative repercussions for IFIs, including massive withdrawal of capital, de-recognition of income and possible legal penalty upon conviction of wrong doing.
