Abstract

The discourse of Islam as a religion that is supportive of green technology and lifestyle remains relatively underdeveloped. Realising this fact and given the potential of Islamic teachings, principles and intellectual heritage to contribute to the growing green technology industry, the International Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia, along with the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM), Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya (APIUM), ATSA Architects, Murujan, and Malaysian Environmental NGOs (MENGO), jointly organised a single-day event entitled International Seminar on Islam & Green Technology (iGreen2016) on 16 November 2016.
